Blackjack is a wonderful card game that has instantly made its way into the hearts of players in all the corners of the world. The reason behind its popularity is that this game offers exclusive game features played with a special set of blackjack cards values.
In Blackjack, the values assigned to the cards are a little different from the typically traditional values assigned to the cards in the sequence from the highest to the lowest. Like the standard card values, in Blackjack also the cards from 2 to10 are assigned the points based on their face values. However, the deviation only comes with the values of picture cards. Ttraditionally, Jack, Queen, King and Ace have 11, 12, 13 and 14 points respectively. Whereas in blackjack-cards , Jack, Queen and King all have 10 points.
Ace is most surely a determining factor in the game of Blackjack as it is the only card that has been assigned dual values. Ace in Blackjack can either be 1 or 11 depending upon the total of your hand. As we all know, the player goes bust if he exceeds the natural total of ‘21.’ Now if you get an Ace and the total of your hand is very close to 21, the value of ace will automatically become 1 to avoid going bust. And if the total of your hand is not very close to ‘21’, the value of Ace that you draw will mechanically become 11 in order to get you winning totals. A hand without an Ace or with an Ace valued as 1 is referred to as the ‘Hard Hand’ in the game. On the other hand, a hand with an Ace counted as 11 is known as the ‘Soft Hand.’
A proper understanding of the corresponding blackjack cards values in the game of Blackjack is imperative before you can get into the technicalities of this highly addictive and of course, highly rewarding card-game.
