Blackjack is an obsessive card game which can be played with one, two, four, six or eight decks of cards. Normally, the regular blackjack card deck consists of 54 cards including two Jokers. Every deck in the game of Blackjack is made up of four suits including, the hearts, diamonds, clubs and spades. Blackjack card values in the deck consists of four suits. For instance, there are four cards of two in a single deck, including, a two of spades, a two of club, another two of diamond and a two of heart. So, all the numerical cards from 2 through 10 and the picture cards, Jacks, Queens, Kings and Aces have four suits each. As there are total nine numerical cards having four suits each, so this indicates that there are total 36 (9 x 4=36) numerical cards in a single blackjack card deck. Similarly, as we all know that there are total 16 picture cards with four suits each, this means that there are total 16 ( 4 X 4= 16) picture cards in one deck.
There are certain variations of Blackjack that does not have a complete set of 52 cards in a deck. For instance, the game of Spanish 21 which is quite a popular variation of Blackjack is played with a 48 blackjack cards deck. In Spanish 21, all the tens are removed from the deck thus leaving 48 (52 – 4 tens = 48) cards in the deck.
